Abigail Yaa Lolade (born July 20, 2000), commonly known as Abitemi, is a Ghanaian afro pop and afro beat singer and songwriter from James Town. She completed her elementary education in Nigeria before moving to Ghana to complete her secondary studies. Abitemi was first spotted by her Choirmaster, who encouraged her to continue music because he recognized the unique skill she demonstrated in her first week as a chorister, calmly wandering through several challenging notes. Despite the fact that her talent was bred in the church, her musical adventure began with a genre that was not immediately familiar with the church’s mode of operation. She began her career as a superb rapper with numerous rap hit songs, including a version of Tulenkeys F Boys, which drew the attention of Glo, the telecommunication network giant, who gave her the opportunity to showcase her unique ability at the first edition of the GLO mega show in Ghana. The date for the 5th iteration of Ghana’s sole tripartite showpiece on the entertainment calendar, Music, Magic and Comedy Live (MMC Live), has been scheduled for 2022. KiDi, Ghana’s reigning Artiste of the Year, and Adina, the evergreen and soft vocalist, have been revealed as musical performers of MMC Live, which will take place on Saturday, July 30th at the Grand Arena Dome inside Accra International Conference Centre. Kenny Blaq, one of Nigeria’s best comedians, and Regardt Laubscher, a South African top magician, will also perform, with comic Clemento Suarez in charge for the evening. MMC Live is making a big comeback this year after a two-year hiatus owing to COVID-19 limits on public activities. Tickets are priced at GHc 100 for a single person and GHc 150 for a couple.
