About TEe ToNie
Anthony Essien, known in the music scene as Tee Tonie, was born in New Takoradi and moved to Elmina at the age of eight. Growing up in the vibrant coastal town, he developed a love for music during his primary and secondary school years at Cape Coast Academy. It was during this time that Tee Tonie began exploring his passion for dance and rap, honing his skills through freestyle performances.
At 17, by God’s grace, Tee Tonie moved to Europe, where his dedication to music deepened. He joined a group called Release Makes a Team (RMT), which featured a dynamic mix of both male and female artists. The group produced several tracks and performed at shows in Brussels, Belgium, where they shared the stage with renowned artists like Obrafour and Tictak. These experiences fueled his ambition, but as time passed, the group gradually disbanded as members pursued individual paths.
Despite the challenges, Tee Tonie’s passion for music remained unwavering. He recognized that music was his true calling and made the decision to pursue it wholeheartedly. His versatility as an artist allows him to effortlessly navigate various styles, from hip-hop to other genres, captivating audiences with his energetic performances and ability to connect with the crowd.
