Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan announced the nominations for the 2022 Academy Awards early Tuesday morning. As expected, the announcement was riddled with snubs and surprises. The finalists in each of the 23 categories were announced in two parts via a global live stream and the motion picture academy’s social media accounts. Nana Yaw Agyemang, commonly known as Big Shaq Attacker, an award-winning radio presenter/DJ, has sadly passed on. The news of his death broke early this morning on the internet, and according to Dawuroo.net, he died in the early hours of Monday, February 7, 2022. The cause of his death is currently unknown. Prior to his death, the DJ who once ruled Kumasi with his impeccable DJing and MCing skills hosted Di Wu Lane Mu, a late afternoon radio show on EIB’s Abusua FM in Kumasi. Big Shaq Attacker previously worked for Metro FM, Mercury, Kapital Radio, Fox FM, Boss FM, Sky FM, and Boss FM before joining Abusua FM. Former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst was the lady who jumped to her death from a Manhattan high- rise building on Sunday morning (Jan. 30), according to The New York Post, which cited law-enforcement officials. Kryst leaped from the 60-story Orion building and was discovered dead in the street below at 7:15 a.m. “We mourn the loss of our dear Cheslie with profound sadness and grief. According to The New York Daily News, Kryst lived on the ninth story of the luxurious apartment building at 350 W. 42nd St., but leaped from a common space on the 29th floor, according to police sources. Before jumping, she wrote on Instagram, “May this day bring you rest and tranquility.” From September 2017 through May 2019, the beauty pageant winner worked as an associated civil litigation attorney at Poyner-Spruill LLP in Charlotte, North Carolina, after graduating from Wake Forest University School of Law. She was crowned Miss USA in 2019 after previously serving as Miss North Carolina. Kryst also worked for ExtraTV as a reporter. The following statement was shared by Extra: “Our hearts are shattered. Cheslie was not only an important element of our show, but she was also a cherished member of our ‘Extra’ family who had an impact on the entire crew. We send our heartfelt condolences to her entire family and friends.” Kryst was also described as “one of the brightest, nicest, and most compassionate persons we have ever had the opportunity of knowing” by the Miss Universe organization in a statement shared to Twitter. According to a photo circulating on social media, Ghanaian rising music artiste, Heartman, has been hospitalized for several months with an unknown illness. In recent months, the musician has been inactive on his social media pages. Throughout the holiday season, fans wondered why the artiste wasn’t booked for any of the shows; some even went so far as to call his management to find out what was going on. There were also rumors that the ‘clearing Agent’ singer had parted ways with his label Beljam record. However, the true reason for his absence from social media and the music scene has finally been revealed. He’s been diagnosed with an unknown illness. Some speculate that it is related to Covid-19. Others believe otherwise, but we are awaiting a press release or other form of response from his manager or label to confirm this.
