Chef Faila’s Cook-A-Thon Guinness World Record Attempt Unsuccessful
An attempt by Ghanaian chef, Failatu Abdul-Razak popularly known as Chef Faila to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon has failed.
The Chef announced this on Sunday, March 3, 2024, via social media.
According to the statement, the attempt was unsuccessful because it “unfortunately fell short of meeting the stringent guidelines set forth by Guinness World Records.”
“The attempt, which captivated audiences worldwide, unfortunately, fell short of meeting the stringent guidelines set forth by Guinness World Records. A statement from the Records Management Team cited a violation of the rest break rules, resulting in an unsuccessful attempt.”
Chef Faila expressed her appreciation to all for the support throughout the period.
“While the outcome may not be what we anticipated, I am deeply thankful for the unwavering support from our sponsors and partners, as well as the encouragement from our fans. Your backing has been instrumental throughout this journey,” said Chef Faila.
She also expressed gratitude to her sponsors.
Amidst the disappointment, Chef Faila remains undeterred, fueled by the support of her sponsors and partners.
Chef Failatu’s ambitious journey began at midnight on January 1, 2024, initially aiming to reach the finish line on the morning of January 5th.
However, fuelled by her unwavering tenacity and kitchen prowess, she pushed through, extending the marathon to January 10th. Throughout the entire ordeal, she dazzled patrons with an array of both local and continental dishes, earning wide admiration.
Tamale, the Northern Regional capital, became a buzzing hub of support for Chef Failatu as dignitaries, celebrities, and influential figures across Ghana rallied behind her. The illustrious names gracing the event included Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia; the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam; the Chief of Staff, Madam Akosua Frema Osei Opare; former First Lady, Lordina Mahama; and former Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu (former Minority Leader).
