Dj Naycha Crowned Africa’s Best Presenter In Europe

Duke Fiifi Quagraine is the name but popularly known by his stage name as DJ Naycha is a Ghanaian born but Italian based dj, he was born and raised in Saltpond in Central region.

He is the last born out of 9 children. He grew up in a strong Christian home where his father is Rev. Bishop E.A Quagraine of Family Bible Church with 6 branches across the world.

Duke attended Seven Great Princess Acadamy, but was later moved to Osu Presbyterian Boys Boarding because he was self-opinionated, after completing Osu Boys, he further went to Sacs Secretarial Science Instituted to study.

He commenced his musical journey with a group called Naycha (Nature) & Agony, it consisted of Tinny, Zaqious and himself performing (rapping) from one place to the other. Since they knew what they were up to, their breakthrought finally came when their efforts was been appreciated, that was back in the days when they performed at Fun-World, Kidderfest, Recognized, Enter School Rap shows, at the National Theatre, they were the kingpins at that time.

After they worked so hard to come out with two smashing (2) Hit albums in 1997 and 1998, Tinny decided to go solitary, whiles DJ Nature and Zaqious chose to stay and work together as a team. In 1999 they both had much experienced and were more advanced so they had a favorable juncture of circumstance where NANA KING featured them on his album titled “SCARY” which had none stop air play at that time. They later released a single featuring Lazzy of VIP (VVIP) titled WARA BE BA.

With a this success, Zaqious also chose to go solo. So Dj Naycha was then by himself, he didn’t end it there. He started composing music for some of the musicians and lucky enough by the year 2000 he became PRO for Kwase Pee’s KROKRO ME album.

He later went into DJing and promotions, due to the way some of the Ghanaian DJs handle and treat musicians.

In 2004, DJ Naycha was invited to Abuja for Pan-African Fiesta where he was on the DJ decks working alongside Rasky Mono, Salifu

 

Keita, Faze, Lauryn Hill, Naz, Nat Brew and a host of African musicians. In 2006, he went to Serbia to work with Pink TV and after 2 years he moved to Italy to work with Rabbi Radio, at the same time he was working with Palledium Nite club and secretary to the club.

Twice Heineken Afropop DJ nominee (EU), DJ Naycha has had the privilege to mount stage with well established artists viz Timaya, Okyeame Kwame, J. Martins, Nigga Row, Malike, Banky W, Sizzla,Kenyan, Afri GH, Faze, BB, Lucky Dube, Elephant Man,Tty, Jonnie Banton, Jah Bless, Monay and Phrez T, just to mention a few.

In 2010 he was nominated on the 2nd Heineken Afropop DJ awards and he performed with one of American finest DJ, DJ Iroc. DJIroc (Anthony Angelo) is an American DJ and Producer from The Bronx, New York, and co-founder of the DJ groups America’s Most Wanted DJ’s and Europe’s Most Wanted DJs. DJ Iroc has performed on many world tours, including touring with one of world’s favorite voices Alicia Keys, and currently co-hosts 5 radio shows on Jamz 96.3 FM.

In 2011, Ghana-Italy Excellence Awards nominated Dj Naycha and in 2012 he won The Best African DJ in Italy.

Currently he is the African Best DJ with 5 awards (Best DJ 2011, Best achievement DJ, Best promoter 2012, Best DJ 2013, Best Heineken African club DJ 2014, and currently Best radio presenter) in Italy and signed to Nakay TV, but currently hosting weekend flava show on bohye radio which Aires on four radio station across Europe & USA and will soon be hosting the Entertainment FLAVA SHOW.

Royal Media Group and (AFRICAN ROYAL AWARDS) 2015 organized and award ceremony to honor hardworking media personalities in Europe and it came out that Dj Naycha was crowned as the Best Africa Presenter in Europe. The event took place last month 17th october in Brescia, Italy.

He is really promoting Africa music and does a lot of interviews for artists from Ghana, Nigeria and Africa at large.
