Fat Joe To Host BET Hip Hop Awards 2022

Grammy-nominated recording artist, actor, entrepreneur, and media personality Fat Joe will host the trailblazing “BET Hip Hop Awards” 2022.
“Fat Joe is hip hop royalty. He has represented the artform and the Bronx, the birthplace of hip hop, throughout his outstanding musical career. He is a treasured friend of the network and we’ve loved seeing and supporting his evolution to becoming the superstar he is today,” said Connie Orlando, EVP, Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET. “We can’t wait to watch him take the stage with his vivacious energy, standing together with today’s hottest and beloved hip hop stars.”

Taped from Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta, GA, on Friday, September 30, the broadcast premiere will air Tuesday, October 4, at 9 PM ET/PT on BET.
The annual celebration will bring together the hottest names in hip hop to pay homage to the year’s best in hip hop culture. The official “BET Hip Hop Awards” 2022 nominations, selected by a voting academy of esteemed music industry insiders, performers, and presenters are to be announced at a later date.

Dj Azonto Adjudged Most Promising Artiste Of The Year

Ghana’s Amapiano “King” Mark Kwesi Arthur, popularly known as DJ Azonto, has been adjudged the Most Promising Artiste at the 2023 Face of Ghana Youth Awards.
The “Fa No Fom” hitmaker was one of the big winners on the awards night as he walked away with a sensational music prodigy accolade.
DJ Azonto, who was the guest artiste on the awards night, also thrilled audiences with an energetic performance.
After receiving the award, DJ Azonto thanked the organisers for recognising his contributions to the growth of Ghanaian music.
“I am very delighted about receiving this award and it is my six big awards for the year so far. I am grateful to my fans for their support
“My song ‘Fa No Fom’ continues to make waves and let’s use it to party during the festive period,” he said.
This recent award happens to be the eight award won by the Amapiano sensation over the past few months.
Awards won by DJ Azonto include Best Artiste of the Year at the High School Students awards, Best Song of the Year at the Ghana DJ awards, Most Influential Artiste of the Year , Most Consistent Artiste of the Year ,Next Most Rated Artiste of the Year at the GABA awards.
DJ Azonto will stage his maiden Valentine’s Day concert at Narvana Lounge, Dzorwulu with tickets selling from GHC1000.

Bisa K’dei Hosts Fans And Top Industry Players At “Original” Album Listening Party In UK

Ghanaian Highlife star Bisa Kdei has successfully staged the listening party for his fourth studio album, titled “Original,” in the United Kingdom.
The one-off listening party held at the Cafe Koko in Camden was attended by top UK music industry players including Eddie Khadi, Adesope, Nomanoms, and DJ Paek as well as representatives from Sony Music, Universal Records, YouTube, Nikita. Apple Music, Spotify. Imuller. Blacklist. Guap Magazine and the Grammy Academy.
The listening party allowed music fans to hear the album, which saw Bisa Kdei collaborate with some of the best musicians on the African continent, including Stonebwoy, Kidi, Teni, Camidoh, Sefa, and football star Memphis Depay.
During the listening party, the multi-award-winning Highlife musician revealed that he had been working on this project for over three years and was overjoyed to finally release it.
“This music project was monumental, and I am grateful to all artistes who featured on it and made it reality. I wanted fans to explore the versatile aspect of my craft, and I am already thrilled with the feedback,” he said.
He also announced plans to stage an album tour around the world with his musical band in his quest to grow Highlife music.
Bisa Kdei has already released the “Next Chapter” video off the “Original” album, which addresses issues pertaining to early career setbacks and success chalked up in his 10-year music reign.
The “Original” album since its release a few days ago has racked up impressive streaming numbers, as it was the third-most streamed album on Audiomack earlier this week.

“Nyariwa Is My Term, No Ghanaian Artiste Should Use It” – DJ Azonto

Ghana’s Amapiano “King” Mark Kwesi Arthur, popularly known as DJ Azonto,has claimed ownership of popular social media term ”Nyariwa.”
DJ Azonto known for his captivating lyrical vibes recently released “East Legon Nyawira” single which has been making waves on social media.
According to the Amapiano sensation, the term “Nyariwa” was propounded by him through one of his songs which has risen to become a favourite term used on social media.
The “Fa No Fom” hitmaker in an interview urged fellow artiste not to copy his term as he would be ready to take legal action.
“I am the originator of the term “Nyariwa” because I used it in one of my songs and it is vibes I have using whenever I go for shows.
“I don’t want any Ghanaian artiste to use it or they can seek my consent before they use it but for now I am the owner of the term,” he said.
DJ Azonto is expected to stage a gigantic live band show on Valentine Day as he prepares to thrill love couples with some amazing performances.

Lyrical Joe Releases Intro Song And Artwork For His Debut Album

Musician, Joseph Gamor known professionally as Lyrical Joe has released the cover art for his debut album ‘PHOTO ’.
Taking to his Social Media to share the artwork, the 2021 Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Best Rap Performance award winner divulge that the album is made of 15 track and hopes that Ghanaians and the world at large would see the album the way he captured it.

“I Also Want To Feature Ebony’s Ghost, Just As Sarkodie Did With Bob Marley” – DJ Azonto

Ghana’s Amapiano “King,” Mark Kwesi Arthur, popularly known as DJ Azonto, says he would like to emulate Sarkodie by featuring the late Ebony on one of her songs.
Sarkodie’s recent feature on Bob Marley’s “Stir It Up” has been received with applause by the majority of fans and celebrities, especially Shatta Wale, who lauded his colleague for featuring a “ghost.”
According to DJ Azonto, who was amused with Sarkodie’s “Stir it Up” feature and would like to go on the same trajectory by featuring the late Ebony reigns.
“I didn’t know people could also feature a ghost, so I want to follow suit by contacting Ebony’s management so I can drop some lines on some of her songs,” DJ Azonto said in an interview.
When asked about his plans for the year, DJ Azonto said he had filed for Artiste of the Year, Best Songwriter of the Year, and Viral Song of the Year at the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).
“With the way ‘Fa No Fom’ is doing magic, I will not be surprised if I win five awards at the upcoming VGMAs. I have filled my nominations, and I expect good news when the nominees are finally released,” he said.

Camidoh Joins Boomplay’s Golden Club With 100M Streams

High-flying Ghanaian crooner, Raphael Kofi Attachie, popularly known in the showbiz circuit as Camidoh, is the latest artist to join the prestigious Golden Club of Africa’s largest music streaming and download platform, Boomplay.
Camidoh joins Boomplay’s Golden Club for reaching and surpassing a milestone of 100 million streams. The “Sugarcane” hitmaker becomes the fourth Ghanaian artist to attain this feat following Black Sherif, Sarkodie and Shatta Wale. Camidoh is now part of a club of African superstars which includes the likes of Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Diamond Platinumz, Rayvanny and more who have had record achievements and milestones on Boomplay.
Camidoh burst onto Ghana’s music scene in 2018 when he was signed to Grind Don’t Stop (GDS) indie label and dropped his first single, “For My Lover”. The single and its remix set a buzz around him as the next big thing leading to his first project, Contigency Plan (CP) – a six-track EP that had rave reviews.
However, Camidoh’s big breakthrough came in December when he released the viral hit single, “Sugarcane”. The song shot Camidoh to stardom and when the chart topping “Sugarcane” remix featuring King Promise, Mayorkun and Darkoo dropped in April 2022, Camidoh became one of the most sought after African stars in the year. He followed the mega single with the capsule “Sugarcane EP” and other notable singles “Kaba” and “Slow” to further extend his reach across Africa and beyond.
Starting 2023 on a high note, Camidoh is out with a collaborative EP with his GDS label titled “A Lifetime is Not Enough”. He hopes to accomplish great things in the year with his debut album scheduled to drop before the year ends.

Victoria Tafamba is a Ghanaian singer and rapper who was born in Kpandai in the Northern region on the 7th of March, 2004. She goes by the stage name Tofamba, which means ‘Special or Worthy’ in Basare, a language of the people of Kpandai. Her range of music spans the genres of hip hop, rap, hip life, Afrobeat and dancehall. A few months after she was born, Tofamba returned with her family to Haatso in Accra, where she spent the next six years growing up with her siblings.
