The news of his death was first announced on Facebook by Accra-based Hitz FM, and was later confirmed by a number of industry figures as well as colleagues at Ghanaweb. The cause of his death is unknown. Ekow Blankson held various leadership positions with four multinational corporations, including Ghana Breweries Limited, a Heineken subsidiary; Coca-Cola; Vodafone; and WaterHealth International.
