Tee Kae Transforms Heartbreak Into Art with ‘Sour Lips

Rising Ghanaian-French singer-songwriter Tee Kae returns with her first release of the year, a
deeply emotive new single titled “Sour Lips.” Blending the intimacy of confession with the power
of sultry Afro-R&B and Alté-infused soundscapes, the track marks a bold step forward in her
artistic evolution.
“Sour Lips” is a raw, poignant reflection on heartbreak, betrayal, and the quiet ache of suspicion.
Sung in both English and French, the track explores the unraveling of trust in a relationship
shadowed by secrecy—furtive phone calls, unanswered questions, and the emotional weight of
silence. At its heart, the song is a plea for honesty, born from Tee Kae’s own experiences of
love, loss, and longing.
Backed by a smooth, rhythmic R&B-driven production, “Sour Lips” clocks in at just over two
minutes—but its impact lingers far longer. Tee Kae’s warm, ethereal vocals glide over the
instrumental with effortless grace, delivering each line with unfiltered vulnerability and control.
It’s a soul-stirring performance that cements her reputation as a standout voice in the alternative
R&B space.

Having discovered her passion for music early on—leading her church music group and drawing
inspiration from icons like Alicia Keys and H.E.R—Tee Kae has been quietly carving her own
space in the global music scene. With a sound that fuses Afro-R&B, Soul, Indie, Trap, and Alté,
she weaves together her diverse influences and multilingual roots, effortlessly blending French
and native African languages.

Tee Kae’s journey began with captivating acoustic covers that showcased her raw vocal talent
and emotional range. Since the release of her debut single “Trouble” in 2023 under her
independent imprint BLUWEIV, she has continued to evolve, now boasting six singles in her
growing catalog.

Following a transformative period of introspection and creative rebirth, “Sour
Lips” arrives as her most personal and powerful release to date.

As Tee Kae opens the door to her 2025 era, “Sour Lips” not only signals her return—but also
her rise. With each release, she’s proving that vulnerability is her strength and music is her truth.

The track is now available on all major streaming platforms here.
