I Derive My Songs From Personal Experiences – Emelia Baidoo

Musicians across the world have different ways of getting inspired to create songs and Gospel artiste, Emelia Baidoo has revealed hers.
Speaking in a interview with Naacy, Emelia Baidoo said music, particularly her style, is all composed of various life experiences.
“I do sometimes sing some of my songs from personal experience that I get but God gives me all the songs through so many ways,” she said on Weekend TV in Bogoso.
“When I’m happy, I’m able to get a song from that, when I’m sad, also I get a song from it, whilst having a conversation with someone, I can get a song. When I attend church services and I listen to the preaching, even someone’s testimonies can inspire me to do a gospel song,” she added, sighted by Alltunezgh.com
According to her, as a gospel singer, the Bible is also a big inspiration when it comes to writing songs.
“These situations all help because the music that we compose is all about life, but at the same time, being a gospel song, you pick some from the Bible,” she explained.
“So you put the word of God together with the life experiences to create the song and everyone has a unique way of getting songs from God,” Emelia Baidoo revealed.
Emelia Baidoo is currently out with Adansedie (Testimony) which is currently doing well in the industry.

Chris Brown Reaches Settlement In Nightclub Assault Lawsuit, But Criminal Charges Remain

Chris Brown has reportedly resolved a key part of his ongoing legal troubles stemming from an alleged violent incident at a London nightclub.

The singer was sued in 2023 by Abe Diaw, who accused him of attacking him in a nightclub with a Don Julio 1942 tequila bottle.

According to newly filed court documents, Diaw has asked a Los Angeles County judge to dismiss the civil lawsuit with prejudice, meaning he cannot refile the case. This type of dismissal typically indicates that a private settlement was reached between the parties. However, details of the agreement—if any financial compensation was involved—have not been disclosed.

In the now-dismissed lawsuit, Diaw alleged that Brown struck him three times with a tequila bottle and continued to stomp on him while he lay unconscious, resulting in serious and lasting injuries.

While this civil matter may be closed, Brown’s legal battles are far from over. The singer still faces criminal charges in the UK related to the same incident. He was arrested earlier this year upon arrival for his world tour and was charged with assault and possession of a weapon.

After being released on bail, Brown recently appeared in court, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

As the criminal proceedings continue, all eyes remain on how this high-profile case will unfold.

Louisa Annan Raises Concern Over Female Gospel Musicians Dressing

Renowned gospel singer, songwriter, and preacher Louisa Annan has expressed concern over what she describes as poor fashion choices among many female gospel musicians today.

Speaking in an interview with Ekow Smith of Ghvibes Dotnet, the “Reign” hitmaker emphasized the importance of good grooming and decent dressing, especially for those in ministry and music. She believes that while looking good is important, it must be done with modesty and purpose.

“Dressing well adds focus to you. It attracts people to your message,” she explained. “Sometimes people may not be able to approach you, but your appearance alone can draw them closer. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a gospel musician dressing well—what matters is that you don’t expose your body. The way you dress is how people will address you.”

Louisa noted that although the gospel industry has evolved significantly over the years, the fashion sense of some female musicians still needs improvement—hence the constant criticism from the public.

According to her, because gospel musicians and ministers play a vital role in connecting people to God, how they present themselves matters greatly.

“You can’t just wear anything that reveals private parts of your body or aim to show off curves. I won’t blame them entirely—many are doing it for fame or attention,” she added.

Rather than harshly criticizing these musicians, Louisa believes the better approach is to educate and guide them toward modest, tasteful dressing that aligns with their calling.

While she admits she may not be a fashion icon, Louisa says she prioritizes comfort and modesty in all her wardrobe choices.

Ugly Dray Pulls Up In Style With His First EP Project

Ugly Dray is here and he is bringing the heat with his new project called EP I, titled ITHIE. With songs like Retro Love Intro and Big Body Benz, Not Love, Fallout, and Any Worse, this EP is taking trap rap based in Africa to a new level.

The ITHIE EP, meaning Is This How It Ends just dropped, and it is all you need to hype this month. Ugly Dray gets you locked in with Retro Love Intro, giving a brief explanation of his works on this project in poetic format.

It illustrates how love fades away quickly after getting familiar with the person. While Big Body Benz throws light on love at the initial stage and the joy that you feel when you first meet the right person until it all comes crashing down.

It talks about a complete girl who has the traits a man wants both physically and behaviorally. This song is dedicated to all beautiful ladies in the world and makes the point that they are beautiful regardless of the world’s definition of beauty. Fallout features new Ghanaian crooner, June, who also appears in the beginning of the EP on Retro Love Intro.

This is a song that reflects on a painful relationship filled with mismatched timing, emotional torture and a loss of trust. Despite strong feelings and efforts, love turns into loneliness and disappointment. The feeling of betrayal, questioning love, and resolving to guard his heart going forward. In all, don’t trust too easily, and always try to put yourself first.

Not Love featuring Ghanaian songstress, Shelter talks about an intense love you have for someone and later realizing it was not mutual making it look like a love fraud. Its catchy chorus and rhythmic rap style, will make this one a fan favorite. Any Worse is about the acceptance that it is obviously not gonna work out anymore regardless of all the sacrifices and commitments.

Expressing a strong sense of regret. There’s more talk of toxic dynamics of the relationship in various scenarios, talking of arguments, broken promises, fake love and emotional instability. Then there is ITHIE POEM to wrap up the EP I, that gives us more of a cliffhanger that there might be more to come. Is this really how it ends…

The EP is now live on Spotify, Apple Music, Audiomack and everywhere you listen to music, in addition to lyric videos on YouTube. Check out the official visualizer also on YouTube too! Follow Ugly Dray on all social media platforms to stay updated on everything new!
