Danny Lampo Weighs In on Medikal–Highest Eri Issue, Highlights Importance of Brand Protection

UK-based Ghanaian artiste Danny Lampo has added his voice to the ongoing conversation surrounding Medikal’s brief and controversial appointment of media personality Highest Eri as the Public Relations Officer for Beyond Kontrol. The appointment, which lasted just 24 hours, sparked intense public debate after fans and industry stakeholders criticized the decision due to Eri’s past comments about Medikal and his close associates.
In his reflection, Danny Lampo emphasized the importance of making strategic decisions when building a team, especially in an industry where public perception and loyalty are critical to an artist’s growth.
According to Lampo, team members must complement and protect the brand, not create confusion around it.
“Every artiste has the right to choose who they want to work with, but the people around you must protect your brand, not divide your fanbase,” Lampo stated. “Your team should reflect your values and direction. Once the fans feel confused or betrayed, problems begin.”
Lampo noted that while people can evolve and change their perspectives over time, public relations is a sensitive role that requires trust, consistency, and a clean public relationship with the artiste.
“If someone has publicly attacked your brand before, bringing them into your inner circle without managing the narrative can create tension,” he explained. “Forgiveness is good, but the communication and timing must be right. The public should clearly understand why the decision makes sense.”
He further advised artists to be more deliberate and transparent when making such appointments, as these decisions can influence fan loyalty, industry relationships, and overall brand stability.
Lampo believes the Medikal, Highest Eri situation serves as a learning moment for the entertainment industry:
“We need to grow to a point where professionalism guides our decisions,” he added. “Any move that affects your public image must be supported by a good communication strategy. Without that, it can damage both the artiste and the person brought on board.”
Danny Lampo also commended Medikal for managing the aftermath responsibly and encouraged emerging artists to surround themselves with team members who truly understand and support their vision.
“Your team is your backbone,” he concluded. “The wrong energy around you can break everything you’ve built.”
As the controversy settles, Lampo’s measured perspective offers a reminder that brand protection, trust, and professional communication remain essential pillars for success in Ghana’s entertainment landscape.

Prison Officer Loses GH₵5,000 To Travel Agent After Chasing A Better Life Abroad

For Enoch Yeboah Kese, a prison officer who has served for several years, the dream of traveling abroad was supposed to be his escape from financial hardship. But today, he says that dream has turned into a painful lesson.

Enoch explains that life in the Ghana Prison Service has been far from easy. Despite the dedication and discipline required, his salary remains too low to sustain the rising cost of living.

“I love my job, but the pay is nothing to smile about,” he says. “The risks are high, the pressure is constant, yet the salary doesn’t match the work we put in. It’s frustrating.”

Hoping to secure a better future, Enoch decided to pursue an opportunity abroad. He saved for months—cutting down on basic comforts—until he finally raised GH₵5,000, money he paid to a travel agent who promised to secure him a visa and a job.

But according to Enoch, that promise never materialized.

“The agent kept assuring me everything was on track,” he recounts. “Later he stopped picking my calls, stopped responding to messages. That was when I realised something was wrong.”

Feeling deceived, Enoch says he had no choice but to confront the agent repeatedly, demanding a refund of his hard-earned money.

“I chased him everywhere,” he says. “I worked for that money. I sacrificed for it. Losing it just like that was painful.”

Though still disappointed, Enoch says the experience has not killed his dream of relocating abroad. Instead, it has made him more cautious, more determined, and more vocal about the struggles many public-sector workers face.

“I don’t want to leave because I hate Ghana,” he says. “I want to leave because I need a fair chance at life. I want to support my family, build a future, and finally feel rewarded for my hard work.”

His story echoes the frustrations of many young workers seeking better opportunities outside the country—only to face obstacles even before they leave.

If you want a shorter news-style version, a more emotional feature story, or a TV/radio script format, I can prepare one for you.
