Ghanaian Dancers Afronitaaa And Abigail Wow Judges At Britain’s Got Talent Auditions

Ghanaian dance sensations Afronitaaa and Abigail left a big impression on the judges of Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) when the duo auditioned in Manchester on Friday, February 9, 2024.

 

Born, Yeboah Danita Akosua Adomaah, the former DWP Academy member, and Abigail of TV3 talented kids reportedly wowed the judges getting four buzzes for their effort.

 

The pair left Accra on February 7 and arrived in the UK the following day, barely 24 hours before their performance.

 

The duo, dressed in all-white hoodies with blue baggy trousers with kente-crafted pockets were posted on BGT’s social media handles on X and Instagram.

 

 

In her first reaction to their success at the first stage, Afronitaa replied to a tweet by former boss, Dance God Lloyd: “GOD DID IT !!! History was made,” she posted hours after their performance.

Ghanaian music stars Camidoh and King Promise will perform at the 2024 MOBO Awards scheduled for Wednesday, February 7, 2024, in Sheffield, UK.

 

Organizers revealed the stellar lineup of performers for the awards ceremony on Monday, February 5, via their X handle.

 

 

 

King Promise, known for hit songs like “Terminator“, “CCTV” and “Slow Down“, is steadily building an international fanbase with his smooth R&B sound.

 

Camidoh broke out to the international scene following the massive success of his smash single “Sugarcane” and remix featuring King Promise, Darkoo and Mayorkun.

Nominees for the 41st International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA), Reggae and World Music’s biggest night of honour have been released.

 

With a total of 150 nominees in 39 categories named, Masicka, Sean Paul & Teejay, with 7 nods; Byron Messia, Burna Boy and PopCaan 5 nods; Dexta Daps, Spice and Valiant 4 nods; Beenie Man, Chronic Law, Koffee, D’Angel, Mavado, Davido, 450 & Pablo YG 3 nods lead the list of nominees for the 41st Annual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA).

 

Notable among the categories is the Best African Dancehall Entertainer where Ghanaian heavyweights Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale go at each other for the enviable crown.

 

The two will battle other heavyweights including Patoranking (Nigeria), Redsan – (Kenya), Star Zee (Sierra Leone) and Winky D. (Zimbabwe/South Africa).

 

Other Ghanaian nominees include DJ Switch, who was nominated in the Best Teen Entertainer (13-19 yrs. old) category.

Uptek Dance Academy also secured a nomination in the Most Outstanding Dance Group category.

King Paluta Targets New Artist Of The Year Award At 2024 Ghana Music Awards

Fast-rising musician King Paluta has set sights on winning the New Artiste of the Year accolade at the 25th edition of the Ghana Music Awards.

 

The “Sika Aba Fie” hitmaker announced on his Instagram page that he had filed for six nominations after the portal was opened by the organisers, Charterhouse earlier this week.

 

The nominations filled by King Paluta include New Artiste of the Year, Hiplife/ Hiphop Artiste of the Year, Best Hiplife Song, Best Collaboration, and Most Popular Song of the Year.

 

“I had my breakthrough last year, 2023 and God did his magic. I just submitted my work for consideration at this year’s Ghana Music Awards.

 

“My people, thank you for coming on this journey with me; let’s win together,” King Paluta wrote on Instagram.

 

King Paluta has been one of the biggest breakout stars in the year of review, churning out some timeless hit tunes.

 

Some of the hit singles released by the Kumasi-based rapper include “Yahitte,” “Sika Aba Fie,” and “Aha Akye.”
