Multiple award winning hitmaker DJ Azonto has sent a strong warning to Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, expressing displeasure over how Nigerian artistes have started using his popular street term “Attassa.”

According to the Fa No Fom hitmaker, artistes including Davido, Chief Cubana, Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, Asake, Portable, VeryDarkMan, and even Genevieve Nnaji have used his terms without his consent.

DJ Azonto urged President Tinubu to instruct Nigeria’s Creative Arts Minister to make sure all Nigerian musicians and entertainers stay away from “Attassa.” A term coined from his name “Arthur” and frequently used to “Ta” from nursery making him known in school as “Attassa”.

“Nigeria and Ghana are one, I don’t see why they can’t call me as a brother before using my term. President Tinubu must warn the Creative Arts Minister to make sure no artiste uses “Attassa” again before I take legal actions”, he stated.

Despite his frustration, DJ Azonto expressed deep admiration for Tinubu’s leadership, saying his respect for the President is why he has not taken harsher actions. He further suggested that Tinubu could compensate him by renaming “Banana Island to Attassa Island” or renaming Lagos airport after him.

DJ Azonto has warned Sarkodie and others already over the term “Attassa” and says any Nigerian who uses it without his permission will pay $100 million.

Donald Trump has filed a $15 billion lawsuit against the New York Times for defamation and libel, alleging the publication caused him reputational damage.

According to Reuters, the president sued the New York Times, four of its reporters, and publisher Penguin Random House in documents filed on Monday in a U.S. district court in Florida.

Reuters reports that Trump cites a series of New York Times articles in the suit, including an editorial from before the 2024 election that said he was unfit for the presidency, as well as a book Penguin published last year with the title “Lucky Loser: How Donald Trump Squandered His Father’s Fortune and Created the Illusion of Success.”

“Defendants maliciously published the Book and the Articles knowing that these publications were filled with repugnant distortions and fabrications about President Trump,” the filing states, according to Reuters.

The New York Times and Penguin did not immediately respond to Variety’s request for comment.

The president took to Truth Social Monday night to announce the move.

“Today, I have the Great Honour of bringing a $15 Billion Dollar Defamation and Libel Lawsuit against The New York Times, one of the worst and most degenerate newspapers in the History of our Country, becoming a virtual ‘mouthpiece’ for the Radical Left Democrat Party,” he wrote.

“I view it as the single largest illegal Campaign contribution, EVER. Their Endorsement of Kamala Harris was actually put dead center on the front page of The New York Times, something heretofore UNHEARD OF!”

Trump went on to accuse the Times of lying for “decades” about himself, his “family, business, the America First Movement, MAGA and our Nation as a whole.”

He also boasted about his “successful” lawsuits against “60 Minutes” and ABC, which he claimed “knew they were falsely ‘smearing’ me through a highly sophisticated system of document and visual alteration.”

He concluded, “The New York Times has been allowed to freely lie, smear, and defame me for far too long, and that stops, NOW! The suit is being brought in the Great State of Florida. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

As noted by the president, this is not the first time he’s gone after a major news organization in court. In July, Paramount paid a $16 million settlement to the Trump administration for a lawsuit against “60 Minutes” as its $8 billion merger was awaiting final approval from the FCC. The media giant had previously slammed the litigation as “meritless.”

Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has died at 71 years old, TMZ Sports has learned.

Medics were dispatched to the WWE icon’s Clearwater, Florida home early Thursday morning … with operators stating it was regarding a “cardiac arrest.”

We’re told a slew of police cars and EMTs were parked outside Hogan’s home … and he was carried on a stretcher and into an ambulance.

Cops tell us officials responded to the call at 9:51 AM … and Hogan was treated by Clearwater Fire & Rescue personnel before being taken to a nearby hospital.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police will provide additional details at a press conference later Thursday.

Development Communication Practitioner and newly launched author, Dennis Agyei Boateng, is making a passionate call on government and stakeholders to institutionalize volunteerism in Ghana, describing it as a critical tool for national development and youth empowerment.

Speaking at the launch of his book titled Serve to Lead: Harnessing Youth Volunteerism for National Development at the African University of Communication and Business (AUCB) on 5^th July 2025, was graced by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Ms. Prisca SedinamKekeshie, Dr. David D. Olaga, Esq., Co-Managing Partner of The Law Office of Kwainoe among other dignitaries. Mr. Boateng emphasized that volunteerism must move beyond spontaneous acts of goodwill to become a nationally coordinated and recognized development strategy.

“This call is not only to the youth,” Mr. Boateng stated. “It is to government, civil society, corporate Ghana, and all stakeholders. We need a national framework that recognizes and coordinates the efforts of volunteers across the country.”

Operationalization of Volunteerism

He urged the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the National Youth Authority (NYA), Youth Employment Agency (YEA), and the National Service Authority, to lead the charge in operationalizing volunteerism. According to him, Ghana needs a centralized National Volunteerism Office—a hub where citizens of all backgrounds can register, be trained, and deployed to sectors where their services are needed most.

“Just last month, the Honourable Minister of Health appealed to retired nurses to volunteer during the nationwide strike,” he noted. “That moment reminded us that volunteerism is not only for emergencies—it must be part of our national development architecture.”

Mr. Boateng highlighted the challenges he faced while writing Serve to Lead, including the lack of credible data on volunteerism in Ghana. He believes that a centralized system would enable the country to track, measure, and improve volunteer engagement.

“Without reliable data, we cannot measure our impact, identify gaps, or develop effective strategies,” he stressed. “Volunteerism must be streamlined if we are serious about tackling challenges in health, education, sanitation, and unemployment.”

In his address, he lamented the lost potential of thousands of young Ghanaians who have the passion and willingness to serve but lack platforms to contribute. He advocated for structures that allow the youth to actively participate in national development and contribute meaningfully toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Reflecting on his own journey, Mr. Boateng shared how volunteerism transformed his life—from a timid, uncertain youth to a confident leader and mentor. “Volunteerism is not a detour—it is destiny in disguise. When we serve, we lead. When we give, we grow. And when we rise, we lift others.”

He concluded with a message of hope and challenge to Ghana’s youth:“Your time is now. Don’t wait to be discovered. Serve your way into purpose. Lead with your heart. And never forget—you were born to make an impact.”
