Fuse ODG Also Cites GTA For Unauthorised Use Of His Content

Ghanaian music star Fuse ODG has revealed his legal team is in touch with that of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) over the use of his intellectual property in a promotional ad without his notice.
In a statement obtained, the musician revealed that although he has sanctioned works in the past for government use most notably his 2018 record “Bra Fie” ft Damian Marley, which was used as the theme song for the Year of Return; which we launched via our TINA festival alongside the President, no such process was observed in relation to the recent video in question regarding our record “New African Girl”
He sympathized with Ayat who has also had to suffer this unfair treatment.
The statement reads;
“As a company, we feel that the last few days have exposed an issue in Ghana that goes beyond the office of the President: The lack of respect and understanding of intellectual property.
We have sanctioned works in the past for government use, most notably, our 2018 record “Bra Fie” ft Damian Marley, which was used as the theme song for the Year of Return; which we launched via our TINA festival alongside the President.
However, no such process was observed in relation to the recent video in question regarding our record “New African Girl”
We sympathise with Kirani Ayat. As creative persons, we sacrifice a lot to be able to put together a song let alone a whole video with high-quality production value.
As a company we have stayed true to our own mission, investing hundreds of thousands of dollars to promote Ghana over the years off our own backs, which we will continue to do.
Clearly, mistakes have been made by the Government in this situation, but hopefully, they can simply hold their hand up and take corrective action to compensate accordingly.
Going forward, the solution must be to invest in more education around intellectual property. This is something the ministry can do both internally and for the creative sector as a whole. Ghana has always been an influential voice in music globally and a lot more can be done to support artists from an early stage.
In the meantime, our legal teams are in discussion with the ministry and their legal team in order to resolve this issue.“

“Weed Is Killing Your Sperm And Causing Miscarriages,” Clinical Embryologist Warns

Dr. John-Brown Mensah, a leading clinical embryologist, has issued a serious warning. During a riveting conversation on the Ride and Chat show, he revealed that smoking tobacco and weed contribute to low sperm counts in men and increased miscarriage rates in women.
This urgent message comes at a time when global fertility rates are falling and cannabis use is on the rise among young adults. In the episode, Dr. Mensah shares eye-opening clinical insights into how marijuana affects reproductive health, particularly male fertility.
He also spoke on the growing commercialization of reproduction, where men are selling sperm for income, women are becoming surrogate mothers for financial survival, and how babies with special features can be produced in a laboratory, probably in the future.

A Pledge Of Heart By Givers Of Heart Foundation: Kendrick’s Story

During our Easter outreach this year, we visited a community that touched our hearts in a way we will never forget.
While there, we met a courageous woman who has been caring for a child she found abandoned by the railway — just a newborn, barely two weeks old. Today, that child is Kendrick — a bright, spirited 4-year-old boy. Since finding him, this woman, already raising her own children, took Kendrick in and gave him love, care, and a chance at life.
We spoke with her and members of the community, learning about the challenges they face and the love they share. It was a humbling reminder of why Givers of Heart Foundation exists — to stand in the gap where compassion is needed most.
Moved by Kendrick’s story and the resilience of his caretaker, we made a pledge: Givers of Heart Foundation will take full responsibility for Kendrick’s education and well-being. We will get him enrolled in school and ensure his needs are met — from uniforms and supplies to emotional and social support. We’re also providing assistance to help his caretaker continue the incredible work she’s been doing.
This moment isn’t just about one child. It’s a reminder that change starts with care — and one act of love can transform a life.
Stay connected with us as we share Kendrick’s journey, and join us in building brighter futures, one heart at a time.

Conclave Elects A New Pope As White Smoke Rises From The Sistine Chapel

Habemus Papam! White smoke billowed from the Sistine Chapel’s chimney this afternoon, announcing the election of a new leader for the world’s 1.4 billion Catholics.
Crowds in St. Peter’s Square erupted in cheers as bells pealed from the towering basilica, confirming that the 133 cardinal electors who had been sequestered inside since Wednesday had reached a two-thirds majority decision on who would succeed Pope Francis.
The new pope’s identity will be revealed shortly by Dominique Mamberti, the senior cardinal deacon, who convention says will appear on the St. Peter’s balcony that overlooks the square and announce, “Habemus Papam” — “We have a pope.”
Inside the Vatican’s cloistered halls, the new pontiff will be preparing to adopt his papal name, which can indicate what kind of pope he intends to be, before donning a freshly tailored white papal cassock and the ceremonial fisherman’s ring.
He will then be led through the Hall of Benedictions and out onto the balcony, known as the Loggia of the Blessings, where his identity will be revealed to the thousands gathered below and the millions more around the world who have closely watched the conclave.

IBRAHIM TRAORÉ: Maame Grace Chides Christian Council And Other Religious Leaders For Silence Over Burkina Faso

Renowned spiritual leader and advocate for African liberation, Maame Grace, has publicly criticized the silence of African religious and political leaders regarding the political situation in Burkina Faso.
In her recent YouTube editorial aired on Sunday titled “THE GREAT SHIFT”, she urged leaders across the continent to vocalize their support for Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s government, which she claims is under threat from European powers aiming to restore neocolonial control.
Maame Grace emphasized that the developments in Burkina Faso transcend traditional political discourse, stating, “This is not merely about democracy; it’s about a significant shift in the consciousness of all Black people globally.”
She expressed disappointment over the lack of response from influential bodies such as the Christian Council, national parliaments, and prominent figures within mosques and churches.
Highlighting the spiritual significance of the moment, she described it as an “all-important cosmic moment” poised to elevate the “melanated world” to its rightful place. She warned that continued silence from African leaders and clergy could inadvertently support foreign interventions aimed at undermining Burkina Faso’s sovereignty.
Captain Ibrahim Traoré, who assumed power in September 2022, has been a polarizing figure. While he enjoys substantial support from segments of the Burkinabé population, particularly the youth, his government has faced criticism over its handling of security challenges and alleged human rights abuses.
Despite these challenges, Maame Grace views Traoré’s leadership as a beacon of hope for African self-determination and a break from historical patterns of external domination.
Maame Grace concluded her editorial by calling on African leaders, religious institutions, and civil society to stand in solidarity with Burkina Faso, advocating for a unified front against neocolonial influences and in support of the nation’s pursuit of true independence.

Ghanaian businessman and entrepreneur Richard Nii Armah Quaye has resigned from his position as CEO and board chairman of Quick Angels and Bills Micro Credit.
He announced the resignation during a press event held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Monday, April 28, 2025.
He will be succeeded by Kwadwo Dei Kwarteng Esq., who takes over as Chairman of Bills Micro Credit, whereas Emmanuel N. L. Lamptey steps up as CEO of Quick Angels.
The resignation is a part of plans to retire from the business, as announced a couple of weeks ago.
He has, however, announced a new company, RNAQ Holdings.
During the ceremony, Richard Nii Armah Quaye said,
“As I begin my retirement from all my businesses in Ghana and other countries as the CEO or Board Chairman, I want to focus my time and energy to lead this vision of bringing together young people with financial resources, amazing skills and early-stage businesses to do this on a larger scale, to trigger the economic revolution that will make our nation great and strong. My only aspiration is to see us thrive as a nation economically, and I have no political ambition whatsoever, as may already be speculated.”
The retirement announcement follows a lavish 40th birthday celebration at Black Star Square in Accra, which featured performances by artists like Davido and Sarkodie and was attended by notable figures from Ghana’s business and entertainment sectors.

Pope Francis Has Died, The Vatican Camerlengo, Announces

Pope Francis, the first Latin American leader of the Roman Catholic Church, died Monday morning, Cardinal Kevin Ferrell, the Vatican camerlengo, announced.
He was 88 and had recently survived a serious bout of double pneumonia.
“At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the home of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of his Church,” Farrell said in the announcement.
“He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with faithfulness, courage, and universal love, especially for the poorest and most marginalized.
“With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite, merciful love of God, One and Triune.″
The Pope was admitted to the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic Hospital on Friday, February 14, 2025, after suffering from a bout of bronchitis for several days.
Pope Francis’ clinical situation gradually worsened, and his doctors diagnosed bilateral pneumonia on Tuesday, February 18.
After 38 days in hospital, the late Pope returned to his Vatican residence at the Casa Santa Marta to continue his recovery.
In 1957, in his early 20s, Jorge Mario Bergoglio underwent surgery in his native Argentina to remove a portion of his lung that had been affected by a severe respiratory infection.
As he aged, Pope Francis frequently suffered bouts of respiratory illnesses, even cancelling a planned visit to the United Arab Emirates in November 2023 due to influenza and lung inflammation.
In April 2024, the late Pope Francis approved an updated edition of the liturgical book for papal funeral rites, which will guide the funeral Mass, which has yet to be announced.
The second edition of the Ordo Exsequiarum Romani Pontificis introduces several new elements, including how the Pope’s mortal remains are to be handled after death.
The ascertainment of death takes place in the chapel, rather than in the room where he died, and his body is immediately placed inside the coffin.
According to Archbishop Diego Ravelli, Master of Apostolic Ceremonies, the late Pope Francis had requested that the funeral rites be simplified and focused on expressing the faith of the Church in the Risen Body of Christ.
“The renewed rite,” said Archbishop Ravelli, “seeks to emphasise even more that the funeral of the Roman Pontiff is that of a pastor and disciple of Christ and not of a powerful person of this world.”
